Murree is a beautiful hill-station to visit if you are embarrassed with electricity breakdown & hot weather in Rawalpindi. Quite easily accessible from Rawalpindi & Islamabad as well as all major cities of Pakistan by road. the recently inaugurated Islamabad to murree expressway makes it more attractive due to short distance from the capital city Islamabad. Derawar Fort is a large square fort in Pakistan which is situated near Bahawalpur at the base of cholistan desert. the presence of this giant fort adds a special thrill in the tourists who visit this desert. according to the details this fort is rebuilt by the nawabs of Bahawalpur in 1733. before this, the construction of this fort is initiated by Rai Jajja Bhati, who belongs to the royal family of Jaisalmer.The thirty meters high walls of derawar fort is visible from the far flung areas of the desert which makes this place more attractive for jeep ralleys & adventure camping.

Cholistan desert ralley is the most famous motor sports event in pakistan which is arranged by TDCP’s every year. This year the 3 days ralley which is commonly known as Cholistan desert ralley 2010, started on 19th Feb & continued till 21st Feb.

The rally is not all about motor sports, there is much more to entertain you, the camel ride, Camel Race & Camel Dance is amazing, yes! The Fireworks at Derawar Fort in the midnight is another majestic thing to see. Don’t miss the local food. However there is no particular hotel, restaurant or motel there but TDCP & local people arranged some temporary food points for tourists during the rally. In case you are visiting cholitan in ordinary days, things to bring while entering desert is few bottles of water, food, tents & off course your camera. Make sure take you have enough fuel in your vehicle. Traveling in cholistan is a hassle if you didn’t have your own vehicle. Yes! You can take the advantage from camel ride for traveling.

It is quite fact that blue area in Islamabad is the junction of skyscrapers. most of the tallest buildings in the city are built there. telecom tower, in particular, is going to be another addition in the list. this 113 meter tall building is under construction these days & its completion is expected at the end of 2010. this building is scheduled for more then 24 floors with good parking facility at the basement. telecom tower is planned to be used for the offices of telecom companies.

It was Major James Abbott who planned & administered Abbotabad city in 1847. He was a british major & serves as a deputy commissioner of the city at that time. abbotabad is the most beautiful & 3rd largest city in (NWFP) Pakistan. surrounded by hills covered with pine trees it is famous for its pleasant weather & no pollution. In summers you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the city from hills, specially a hill point called shimla pahari. Ilyasi masjid, in particular is one of the historical mosque in abbotabad, it is situated in Nawanshehr a small town in abbotabad. Ilyasi masjid is famous for its delicious pakoras & the fresh natural stream of water. You can also enjoy hiking at the track located behind the masjid. Note that photography is prohibited inside the masque so ask the caretaker of the mosque if you want to take some photos.

Refresh your mind take a drive to rawal dam this weekend. Surely you will love it. Its not so for from Islamabad. It will take just 15 minutes to reach there. Rawal Dam is constructed with the intention to store rain water for creating a water reservoir for Rawalpindi and Islamabad. However this is relatively a very small dam If we compare it with tarbela & mangla. That is why it is not utilized to produce electricity. Under the supervision of Tourism Development Corporation of Pakistan, Rawal dam is a popular place for tourists due to boating & other water sports facilities, there are many refreshments points that provides a varieties of Pakistani dishes. another dam near to Islamabad is called Simly Dam. if you really want to enjoy the day at outdoor adventure & water sports simly dam is also a must see.
