The cobra helicopters of Pakistan army are lined up in newly constructed airbase in tarbela. this airbase plays a major role in the recent military operations of Pakistan army in swat & waziristan as a part of war against terrorism in Pakistan.

The 5.6 Km runway of Army Aviation base is situated near tarbela in the villege of Hassanpur, about 70 km northwest from Islamabad. The special service group (SSG), highly trained commandos of pakistan army have their base in Tarbela, these special operation task force (SOTF) are located in tarbela who are the front-line force of complex military operations in Pakistan.
