Women traffic police in lahore.

14 October 2009 2 Comments

Although India has deployed women soldiers at their boarder line military, but if we talk about woman’s at Pakistan, we find it  interesting & unique where women as a traffic warden are seen on patrolling duty,  riding 250 cc heavy duty bikes on the roads,  But not to wonder!  the below picture is the crew of women traffic wardens in Pakistan, serving  in traffic controls at Pakistan second largest city Lahore.

This is a very positive step but i believe women are not good to control the situation when it came to  panics. I hope they have had enough training to cope with any unwanted situation. according to the NHA (national highway & motorway police) the aim of deploying women’s in traffic controlling is to help & guide women drivers in any road mishap.

I don’t know weather NHA in the near future will expand the network of women traffic constables in other cities or not but i believe it will be  difficult to get public acceptance for women in the crew of traffic controllers specially in NWFP & other cities of Pakistan, excluding the liberal class folks of Lahore & Islamabad.
